avalanche courses

Surface Hoar in the Alpental Valley

The goal of an avalanche course is simple: to give the students tools for making good decisions in avalanche terrain. We achieve that goal by addressing the whole picture: weather, snow, terrain, and the human beings who choose to travel there. Our goal is to send you home eager to learn more,  with a good idea of how to gain experience safely.  I teach Level 1 and Level 2 courses at Snoqualmie Pass with Pro Guiding Service, using curriculum developed by the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE). Check out the PGS calendar for dates, or get in touch with me directly to see when I am teaching next.
